Press Release for Show Update; A Sterry Sterry Night

September 14, 2011

Here is the text of the press release we are pushing around to promote our show coming up in a few weeks. If you are in Portland on Oct 1 or 2 and have nothing worthwhile to do, this show could be just the thing. And if you have the inclination spread the word.

“Italian exuberance meets British understatement and sangfroid in a Cabaret Show of
thought provoking, tear jerking, belly laughing storytelling and music with the
husband and wife team of Anne-Louise and Bob Sterry at Hipbone Studio, 1847 E. Burnside, Portland, OR,
October 1st at 7.30 PM and October 2nd at 2.30 PM. $15 at the door.

Can there be a more challenging entertainment style than a husband and wife team?
Anne-Louise and Bob Sterry have been entertaining people separately in their own
shows in their own styles, and are just now daring to blend both their styles
and risk an even more successful outcome.

Bob and Anne-Louise in A STERRY STERRY NIGHT! may not directly remind the audience of
Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz, George Burns and Gracie Allen, Bogie and Bacall or
even Stiller and Meara, but they  won’t mind ‘indirect’ comparisons. But,
when Anne-Louise’s zany alter ego Aunt Lena takes the stage, as special guest,
audiences will be reminded of a unique New Jersey Italian blend of Carol
Burnett, Lily Tomlin and Dame Edna Everidge.

Anne-Louise Sterry, originally from New Jersey, is a well-known local Speaker,
Singer-Songwriter, Author and Storyteller providing keynote addresses and
consulting to businesses and organizations everywhere. Whether as herself or
her notorious alter ego Aunt Lena, she has an extraordinary power to connect
with audiences.

Bob Sterry is a local poet, singer, humorist, even actor. Originally from another hop growing, beer drinking area, The
Weald of Kent in England, and a refugee from twenty five years of high tech marketing.”
